May newsletter available

April 29, 2010

As promised, the Southwood Park News has gone green. The choice was made so we can save hundreds of dollars in printing and mailing costs with each issue. The end of year and beginning of year issues will still be mailed to all owners and homes with ballots, dues notices and the coming year’s basic calendar.

The May issue is eight pages. Dirt Day, Garden Center discounts, board meetings, window workshops, Award Homes, and Garage Sale information are some of the articles included.

First, I just want to note my appreciation for all the work Steve McCord does for SWP … especially our website/blog and now our “green” newsletter. Great job.

Next, looking at the current weather forecast, I must add to the Dirt Day announcement that, if it rains Friday night or Saturday morning, Felger’s may delay delivery until the next Saturday, May 8.

Speaking of May 8, SWP will be sponsoring a sale of floral hanging baskets at the Friendly Fox that day. Profits will be donated to the city’s Parks Department program to protect street trees from the Emerald Ash Borer.
