UPDATED: Ambassador Enterprises intends to purchase entire TUFW campus

October 20, 2010

At 2PM today, Taylor University and Ambassador Enterprises will issue a press release regarding Taylor’s Fort Wayne campus.

Ambassor Enterprises intends to purchase the whole TUFW campus, with the exception of the WBCL Radio Station offices. This purchase will include the TUFW Alumni and Friends Resource Center, Brown Gables and the historic buildings on the north side of Rudisill Boulevard. The parties hope to close the deal before the end of the year.

Ambassador is looking at a “center for cooperative excellence in education”. They are working on their master plan, so there are no final details yet. It could be a high school. It could be residential. One model they are reportedly studying is Columbus, Indiana’s Community Education Coalition.

When the TUFW campus was closed in 2008, Ambassador Enterprises was hired to help find a new owner for the property. Several public meetings were held to gather public input. An earlier 2010 attempt by the Leona Group, LLC to purchase half the campus did not come to fruition.

Here is the official press release:
