Help Save Pocohontas Pool!

September 13, 2016

Pocohontas Pool is a short drive or bike ride from Southwood Park, and there’s value in having a summertime swimming hole nearby.  That is why many Southwood Park residents were among the original subscribers when this, Fort Wayne’s oldest swim club, was being built.

If you see the value in maintaining this amenity, check out this Go Fund Me campaign.  The pool is under financial pressure to remain open. Follow the link for more information.  https://www.gofundme.com/savepocopool

On beHalf of the Pocahontas pool board I would like to invite a member of the Historic Southwood Park Association Board to our next board meeting Thursday, September 29 at 6 PM at Poco pool. We want to include surrounding neighborhoods in the information and discussion of saving this south side landmark. Please consider coming. BRUCE and Christina Mckay

Thank you for the invite, Christina.

I will be picking up kids from band practice at North Side at that time, so I will not be able to attend. I will check if any other association officers are interested in attending.

Even if we are unable to attend, please know that we see the value in having amenity nearby. We are happy to help publicize fundraisers, events, and membership drives in the future. Keep us informed of meeting developments. Our Association email is Southwood_Park@yahoo.com.

      Thanks,
      Steve McCord, board president
